What do you expect from a coffee?
What do you expect from a coffee? The answer to this seemingly simple question is not obvious. That's what I found out this week after a long 0800 conversation with the manufacturer of the espresso machine I recently purchased.
For me, coffee has to be black, giving off a little smoke because it's so hot, bitter and with that delicious smell that, let's face it, is better than its taste. But what I get every time I press the button on my new machine with the coffee pod is lukewarm coffee, so full of foam that it feels like a cappuccino. The solution for this, according to the lady on the 0800 service, is to heat the cup before preparing the coffee.Well, as far as I know, the warm cup prevents the coffee from cooling down faster, but using it to reheat an unduly cold coffee is new to me.The lady on the 0800 number said that the lower temperature of the coffee results from the use of centrifugation in these new machines, which makes the coffee creamier.Yes, but so what?I don't like reheated coffee. Can't exchange my machine for the old model? Can not.
Now I have a beautiful, vibrantly colored machine that works via Bluetooth, but when I want to drink coffee, I put the kettle on and pick up the good old Melita coffee filter.
